Samsung aims at selling over 10 million Galaxy Note 3 devices

The Samsung Galaxy Note family of smartphones has added a new member last week, namely the Galaxy Note 3, but it seems that the older devices in the series are still strong on the market.

Although initially seen as targeting a niche segment, the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note II smartphones have managed to sell a combined 38 million devices worldwide since the lineup was officially launched two years ago.

The figure seems very impressive, considering the large screen sizes the two landed on the market with, and should help the new Galaxy Note 3 register a fulminant success right from the start.

According to ETNews, Samsung’s CEO JK Shin said during a press meeting at IFA 2013 that the company was aiming at selling over 10 million units of the new handset (which might represent only the launch numbers, as SamMobile notes).

The new mobile phone is set to land on shelves on September 25 with a 5.7-inch touchscreen display and with a Snapdragon 800 processor packed inside.
