On Wednesday, Microsoft announced the availability of a new feature for all Windows Phone 8 users out there, namely the possibility to back up full-resolution photos and videos to SkyDrive.

“Today I am pleased to announce that we’re making the ability to back up full-res photos and videos available everywhere. (We just started to light this up, so be patient if you don’t see it right away. The change could take a few days to roll out around the globe.),” Microsoft’s KC Lemson notes in a blog post.

Users interested in taking advantage of the feature will have to go to Photos > More > Settings > SkyDrive, which will show the same menu as in the right screenshot in the photo above.

Simply hit the Best quality button to start uploading photos or videos from the phone to SkyDrive in the highest available resolution.
