Foursquare for Android has just been updated with a new score system that will allow users to get a glimpse of how well a place fits to their needs.

According to developers, with the latest Foursquare for Android, users will be able to see a score next to the name of a place searched in Explore.

“Instead of other sites where every place gets 3.5 stars, our scores use the Foursquare magic that powers Explore,” Foursquare claims.

The new rating system takes into consideration tips, likes, dislikes, popularity, loyalty, local expertise, as well as 3 billion check-ins from over 25 million people worldwide.

Foursquare 2012.11.12 is now available as a free download via Google Play store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 and up. Check it out here.
