It’s been almost nine months since Flipboard was confirmed for Windows Phone 8 handsets, but developers have yet to announce when exactly the application will be released.

Well, it looks like Windows Phone fans won’t have to wait too long to get Flipboard on their devices, as the application has recently made an appearance at Microsoft’s BUILD 2014 developer conference.

Although it was spotted only briefly at the conference, NokiaPowerUser reports that a Reddit user has already published a few images showing Flipboard on Windows Phone.

One of the photos leaked shows Flipboard running on a Nokia Lumia 520, which suggests that the application will be compatible with just about any Windows Phone 8 device.

While there’s no word on when exactly the application may land on Windows Phone Store, the simple fact that a working version of Flipboard has recently been shown to developers is an indication that the long-awaited app may arrive sooner rather than later.

In related news, Nokia and BlackBerry have recently announced the upcoming availability of BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) instant messaging app on Windows Phone 8 devices.

The popular messaging application is expected to be released on Windows Phone Store in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more updates on Flipboard and BBM releases on the Windows Phone platform.
