Sony Xperia P is not among the best-featured smartphones available on the market, but it’s still a decent option for those who cannot afford a high-end Jelly Bean device.

That’s because Sony Xperia P is likely to receive the long-awaited Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update in the coming weeks.

The folks over at XperiaBlog have just spotted a new firmware version (6.2.A.0.269) for Xperia P at Bluetooth SIG, which is likely to be Jelly Bean.

Even though the update has yet to appear at PTCRB, we suspect it won’t take long until this new firmware version gets certified.

The upcoming Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system will replace the current Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform, which was pushed to Xperia P devices a while ago. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
