Only one day after it made the stable flavor of Firefox 16 for Android available for download, Mozilla pushed out a new flavor of its mobile web browser for all devices powered by Google’s mobile operating system, namely version 16.0.1.

The main reason for releasing this update was that the initial iteration of Firefox 16 for Android was found to be affected by a major security bug.

The new 16.0.1 release was meant to resolve that problem, while also being aimed at providing a series of stability fixes for issues that were found to affect devices running under CyanogenMod 10 builds.

No other changes were made in this release, yet all the improvements that Firefox for Android 16 arrived on devices with are there as well.

The latest version of Firefox for Android is available for download from Softpedia via this link.
