Shortly after releasing a new stable version of Firefox for Android devices, Mozilla launched a new beta iteration of its mobile browser on Google Play store.

Firefox Beta 1 for Android 18.0 is the first browser with Safe Browsing, Mozilla claims. It features integration with Google Now search widget and improvements in “updater” code. The latest version of Firefox also comes with support for loading new fonts.

For developers, Mozilla implemented the CSS3 Flexbox, support for new DOM property window.devicePixelRatio, along with support for @supports.

Several bugs have been fixed, such as the opt-in for search suggestions when entering text into the Awesome Bar. There are still some known issues that need to be fixed, but these will probably be ironed out in future releases.

Firefox 18.0 is now available as free download via Google Play store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.0 and up. Check it out here.
