14 DAY TRIAL // Mozilla has just released a new stable version of Firefox for Android devices. The new iteration has already been uploaded on Google Play Store, so it should be available for everyone in the next few hours.
As expected, Firefox 28 brings lots of new features that have been previously tested in the latest beta versions of the browser. Unfortunately, due to the fact that Mozilla doesn’t provide changelogs for these beta releases, we can’t tell what’s new.
Regardless, Mozilla has now confirmed that Firefox 28 comes with more native text selection, cut, and copy. In the latest version of Firefox, all awesomebar entries should now trigger predictive lookup.
Furthermore, multiple quick share buttons have been added, along with support for OpenSearch. Another cool feature implemented is the VP9 video decoding support, as well as support for Opus in WebM.
There’s also a new volume control for HTML5 audio/video and a settings switch to toggle dynamic toolbar mode.
For developers, Mozilla added support for MathML 2.0 'mathvariant' attribute and multi-line flexbox in layout. Developers will also be able to take advantage of the new “background thread hang reporting” feature.
