After months of uncertainty and waiting, HTC One M8 owners can finally breathe in relief, as the much-awaited Android 5.0 Lollipop update has started rolling out for their handset.

You know the drill, updates such as these usually hit different devices at different times, so if you haven’t been notified that the new build has arrived on your One M8, give it a few hours or even a few days.

But one thing’s for certain, the international HTC flagship is currently receiving the latest Android version side-by-side HTC’s proprietary Sense UI, as announced by HTC's Senior Global Online Communication Manager, Jeff Gordon on Twitter.

The update is a 780MB download that will add all the Material Design goodies you have been craving for ever since you heard about Android L. These include things like revamped notification drawer and quick toggle settings and recent task switcher.

If you’re getting impatient waiting for Lollipop to hit your HTC One M8, you can also try the proactive route and go check Settings > Software updates to see if the new build has arrived.

Since the Lollipop update for the HTC One M8 model has started rolling out, owners of the HTC One M7 should expect to see their device receive the same treatment soon enough.
