We already reported the HTC Desire C is slated for a July 23 release at Fido, but there were no details on the phone’s pricing until recently.

It appears that the Canadian carrier plans to offer the Desire C for $200 CAD outright, or for as low as $50 CAD with a new two-year agreement.

We suspect that this is not the final price for the HTC Desire C, especially due to the fact that other carriers offer much better deals on this budget-friendly smartphone.

For example, SaskTel sells the HTC Desire C for only $100 CAD off-contract, while Virgin Mobile Canada customers can purchase the handset for $150 CAD on no-term.

However, this might be just a marketing decision meant to force customers to commit to a long-term contract. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
