Windows Phone 8.1 early adopters will be pleased to know that Microsoft has just released a new update for Facebook application for any device running the latest version of the operating system.

The new update bumps Facebook for Windows Phone 8.1 to version 8.1.4.25, but aside from that, there’s no telling what changes Microsoft has made in the new iteration of the social app.

However, given the small incremental in version number, we expect the changes to be minor with no new features added or other major improvements.

This small update might only include small enhancements, bug fixes and some tweaks that should further improve users’ overall experience.

Those who already have Facebook installed on their devices will be prompted to update to the latest version, while new users can now download Facebook for Windows Phone 8.1.4.25 for free via Windows Phone Store.

Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 7.5 and up.

It is also worth mentioning that the Windows Phone 8.1 version is newer than Facebook Beta, so if you have the latter installed, you might have an older iteration of the application. Stay tuned for details on future updates for Facebook for Windows Phone.
