Facebook recently released a new version of its social network application for Android devices, but not for the Messenger. The new iteration promises a much smoother user experience thanks to some visual changes and tweaks.

Long-time Facebook users will be the first to notice that the Android application looks a bit different, as developers confirmed they have included a new look and other design changes into the update.

First of all, Facebook users will now be able to swipe to quickly navigate among different areas within the application. Then, you can now search anywhere using the new search button. You can also access Most Recent and other feeds under More on the right.

Last but not least, developers confirmed some improvements for reliability and speed have been included in the update as well, but no additional details on these have been provided.

Keep in mind that some of these changes announced by Facebook may not be available on all devices. It’s also worth mentioning that the update is pushed in waves, so it may take a few days to reach all compatible Android phones and tablets.

You can now download Facebook for Android 15.0.0.20.16 for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 2.3 and up.
