We reported a few days ago that Facebook decided to bypass Google Play and push updates to its Android application automatically.

As a matter fact, the company pushed one update that was reportedly received by many Facebook for Android users, but some of them refused to install it for fear it might be a malicious third-party program.

Well, it looks like Facebook has learned from its mistakes and pushed the said update on Google Play for everyone to download it.

The latest version of Facebook allows users to change their profile picture within the application, as well as hide stories and report spam in News Feed.

In addition, developers introduced a few tweaks that make it start a group message by allowing for fewer taps.

Facebook 2.3 is now available as a free download via Google Play store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 and up. Check it out here.
