Facebook and WhatsApp messenger are the most downloaded free apps in the Google Play Store, a recent report from Distimo shows, while also unveiling that the SwiftKey Keyboard was the top paid software in the storefront.

According to the aforementioned report, which covered the month of April, Microsoft’s Skype landed on the third place in the top free apps list, followed by Facebook Messenger and Instagram (which replaced Temple Run 2 on the fifth position).

The top paid apps in Google Play Store remained almost the same in April as they were in March, with SwiftKey Keyboard placed on the first position, followed by Titanium backup Pro Key, Minecraft – Pocket Edition, Poweramp Full Version unlocked, and Nova Launcher Prime.

“In Google Play there is a stable top 5, the same apps in almost the same order are listed as in March 2013. The only change is a switch between Minecraft (now 3, in March 4) and Poweramp Full Version Unlocker (now 4, in March 3),” Distimo notes.
