Facebook updated its Messenger application for Windows Phone devices quite a few times since the beginning of the month. The most important update came in the first week of June and added lots of new features and improvements.

Along with version 5.0.0.0, developers promised they would continue to deliver improvements to the application to make it more reliable and use less data.

True to its promise, Facebook delivered two new smaller updates during the next couple of days, which were supposed to fix some small bugs and add certain under-the-hood improvements.

Today, the third minor update for Facebook Messenger has just been uploaded on Windows Phone Store, and while the changelog is very short, it shows developers are concerned about the improvement of their application.

The latest update for Messenger for Windows Phone is supposed to fix a performance regression developers found in version 5.0.0. Aside from that, there are no mentions of any additional changes.

You can now download Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone 5.0.3.0 for free via Windows Phone Store. Keep in mind that the latest version of the application should be fully compatible with most devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up, including Windows Phone 8.1.
