This is just a minor update that brings small improvements and bug fixes

Believe it or not, but Facebook has just released another update for its Messenger application for Windows Phone devices. Although Messenger is considered to be far behind its Android and iOS counterparts when it comes to development, it looks like Facebook is trying to bring the gap closer.

This is the second update Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone receives in less than a week, but unlike the previous major update that brought in loads of new stuff, the one released today is a small one that doesn't seem to have an official changelog attached to it.

However, given that the update bumps the Messenger's version to 5.0.1.0, it's pretty clear that this only brings minor stuff like small improvements and tweaks, as well as some bug fixes.

Unfortunately, without an official changelog there's no way to confirm what's new in this update, but the good news is Facebook promised it would continue to improve the application to make it more reliable and use less data.

You can now download Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone 5.0.1.0 for free via Windows Phone Store. The new version of the application should be fully compatible with most devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.
