Good news for Facebook Messenger addicts who are using Android devices, as developers have just pushed a small update that brings a brand new feature and some fixes.

Although small, the update is supposed to add a very important feature, and that’s the ability to save videos captured in Messenger directly in the phone’s Gallery.

Aside from that, no other improvements or new functionalities are included. However, Facebook has also confirmed that the new build should add lots of other fixes that will certainly make the application more reliable.

Nonetheless, it’s refreshing to know that Facebook has started to update its applications so frequently, especially since they were not up to par with the competition.

Keep in mind that the new build is rolled out in stages, so it might not be available in all countries at the same time. Also, depending on your device, some of the features included in Facebook Messenger might not be available to you.

Those who already have the application installed on their devices should be notified on the update, while new users can now download Facebook Messenger for Android for free via Google Play Store.

The new version of the application should be fully compatible with most devices powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and up.
