An updated flavor of the Xbox Music application is now available for download for the owners of Windows Phone 8.1 smartphones, namely version 2.5.3929.0.

The new app iteration is offered with a nice set of improvements packed inside, including the option to swipe the album art on the Now Playing screen to change tracks.

Additionally, the mobile software comes with a series of UI layout changes that will result in additional room for content. Various bug fixes and small improvements were also included in the update.

The option to change tracks through simply swiping on the album art is certainly a nice addition to the application, yet it seems that users should be looking forward for some other enhancements as well.

As WPCentral explains in a recent post, the application will see more performance and stability improvements in future releases, and it will also support more than 100 songs in the Now Playing list.

Long lists should load faster in the upcoming versions and Kid’s Corner support will also be added to the application, along with Transparent Tile and Live Tile support, it seems.

In the meantime, however, Windows Phone 8.1 users can download the latest flavor of the Xbox Music application through the Windows Phone Store.
