The folks at WhatsApp have just released a new version of their instant messaging application for Android devices.

However, for some reason unknown to us, the latest version of WhatsApp Messenger has yet to be uploaded on Google Play Store.

According to UnleashThePhones, this minor update upgrades the application to version 2.9.2239 and adds a new Holo User Interface theme.

Given the fact that there are no official changelogs available for this version, there’s no telling what other changes developers have added, but we will keep an eye out for this one.

WhatsApp Messenger 2.9.2239 is now available as a free download via WhatsApp website and Softpedia and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 and up. Keep in mind that for the moment the application does not support tablets.
