"0.0.10 is a fix for crashes above 0.0.9," the VLC team notes

Only several days after the ninth beta version of VLC for Android emerged in the Google Play Store, a new flavor of the application was made available for download, namely 0.0.10.

Still a beta release, the new app iteration was meant to resolve an issue that resulted in crashes in 0.0.9 and later builds, it seems.

The previous flavor of the application was pushed to devices with new audio and video output methods, while also being meant to resolve a variety of bugs discovered in the software.

At the moment, VLC’s audio uses OpenSL ES, expected to deliver better audio / video sync. Even so, users will be able to set the app to use the older AudioTrack (Java) method, should they want to do so.

VLC for Android 0.0.10 Beta can be downloaded through the official app store today.
