Owners of Android-based devices who like staying connected with their Twitter accounts at all times can now download and install a new flavor of the official Twitter mobile client, namely version 5.0.8.

The new app iteration should come with various fixes and small improvements packed inside, building on the new features and capabilities that Twitter 5.0 brought along.

Now, users will also be able to access Twitter Alerts easier than before from their smartphones, a post on Twitter's blog reads. Users can also subscribe to organization that participate in Alerts to receive push notifications when they post.

The software was previously updated with a new look and feel, allowing users to access Home, Activity, and Discover through swiping in Timelines.

Furthermore, the app brought easier access to Direct Messages, as well as the option to share, send, and receive photos in DMs.

You can download Twitter for Android 5.0.8 from Softpedia today. The application is compatible with devices running under Android 2.1 and up.
