The Photo Shader application for devices running under Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system has been updated to version 2.2 recently, capable of providing a better experience to the owners of newer devices.

The new app iteration brings multi-threading support on Windows Phone 8, which means that it will be able to take advantage of multiple cores inside smartphones, WMPoweruser notes.

Furthermore, it delivers rendering times over the previous version, while also featuring a series of memory saving features, which enable the app to keep photos at their full resolution when saving them to the smartphone.

The update also brings along a set of five new effects, with more of them expected to arrive in future versions.

The application is available in the Windows Phone Store via this link, priced at $0.99, but with a free trial included.
