An updated flavor of the Nova Launcher application is now available for download for the owners of Android-based devices out there, namely version 3.0.

The new software iteration comes to smartphones and tablets with some appealing enhancements packed inside, including support for the “OK, Google” hotword on home screens.

The feature is available for all handsets running under Jelly Bean or higher platform releases, and allows users to launch a voice search regardless of the home screen they are on.

“Use Google's voice hotword from within Nova Launcher. Requires Jellybean and a device/locale Google supports for hotword,” the company explains.

Additionally, the new app iteration offers subgrid positioning, which results in more flexible layouts through snapping items halfway through the grid.

Nova Launcher 3.0 for Android also comes with support for Today Calendar's Dynamic Calendar Icon, which is also said to be supported by some icon themes such as Domo or KEX.

A series of color options for icon labels, tabs, backgrounds were also included in the new application iteration, it seems.

The release notes also mention that users might need to disable the CM Theme Engine themes before applying the update, so as to prevent force-closes.

The new Nova Launcher 3.0 for Android is available for download through the official Google Play store.
