Owners of Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 8.1 devices out there can now download and install a new version of the Lync 2013 application, namely version 5.4.1087.0.

The new mobile application iteration arrives on handsets with a series of bug fixes packed inside, as well as with some user experience improvements, though no specific details on them have been provided as of now.

The Lync 2013 for Windows Phone mobile client was designed to provide users with access to the Lync service while on the go, and it also offers a nice set of communication features.

Among these, we can count voice and video calling over wireless networks, rich presence, instant messaging, and conferencing capabilities from a single, easy-to-use interface. The app also offers improved security with Lync certificate and passive authentication.

The app will enable users to easily start a group conversation (IM or Video) or invite additional participants to one, to join, rejoin and initiate a Lync Meeting, transfer calls to another phone number or contact, and the like.

The Lync Mobile app is free to use, but access to all of its features and capabilities require a Lync account, Microsoft notes in the application’s description.

You can download Lync 2013 for Windows Phone from Softpedia today.
