The Android application that allows users to stream HBO shows has just been updated with support for the latest version of Google’s mobile platform.

HBO GO can be installed for free on most Android devices as long as the owner has an HBO subscription. The application offers users the possibility to watch more than 1,400 HBO shows, such as original programming comedy sports, blockbuster movies and more.

Although HBO GO was launched in the Google Play Store a while ago, the application did not support Ice Cream Sandwich platform until back in May. Furthermore, the software did not even run on Android tablets until recently.

Today, developers delivered a new update for HBO GO, which promises to iron out some of the application’s bugs.

More importantly, it now offers support for Android tablets running up to version 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. Some performance enhancements have been included as well.

HBO GO 1.5 is now available as a free download via Google Play store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 and up.
