Shortly after Google pushed a new version of YouTube on its applications store, the search giant updated its Search app as well. The changes are significant both visually and performance wise.

AndroidPolice reports that the first obvious change is the improvement of the rather new Cricket functionality for Google Now. Cricket fans will notice that teams are now shown in the Google Search with their logos included, which wasn’t available in the previous version.

Furthermore, the search system has been improved as well, especially when you are looking for a certain picture. You will now be able to visit the picture on the webpage and then open it in a browser on your phone.

Last but not least, the Hotword detection option that was also present in older Google Search apps, now has its own small menu where you can enable/disable it or activate it so that you can listen on home screen.

This small menu wasn’t available in previous versions of Google Search, as Hotword detection only featured a small toggle. Some changes to the company stock view have been added as well, so you are now offered more in-depth information.

Users can now download Google Search for Android 3.3 APK file for free via Softpedia. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with most devices powered by Android 2.2 and up.
