Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless started selling two new Motorola smartphones earlier this week, namely the DROID ULTRA and DROID MAXX, and it seems that those who purchased these devices are in for a small surprise when turning the handsets on.

Shortly after the first boot, these devices prompt users to download and install a new system update, which brings the software loaded on them up for version 12.7.7, Droid-life reports.

Apparently, this is only a minor update for the two smartphones, as the changelog for it unveils a series of ISIS Mobile Wallet enhancements, as well as a change for Wi-Fi reminders from being set at 30 minutes to going up to 12 hours.

Both DROID ULTRA and DROID MAXX became available for purchase at the wireless carrier on August 20 at $199.99 (€150) and $299.99 (€223), respectively, on contract.
