The handset was set for launch before the end of 2011

DROID 4 by Motorola, a new Android-based device in Verizon’s highly popular lineup, was expected to arrive on shelves in December, but got delayed to the next year.

However, it appears that Motorola Mobility and Verizon Wireless were indeed set to make it available for purchase before the end of the year, though it’s uncertain what determined them to push it back.

They are said to have had all things prepared for the launch, and the fact that Motorola DROID 4 made an appearance in Best Buy Rewards Zone Promotion confirms that, Droid-life notes.

With only three days left of 2011, there are little chances that the 4G LTE handset would be made official before January is here, that’s for sure. Apparently, the rumored February release might pan out in the end.

However, we might expect for Verizon to make an official announcement on this device in the near future, so stay tuned.
