Expected to be the last release before the final flavor of the software

Earlier this week, a new flavor of CyanogenMod 10.1 was made available for download for a wide range of supported devices, namely the first release candidate flavor of the custom Android software, marking a new step towards the availability of CM 10.1 in a final flavor.

“We haven’t used the ‘Release Candidate’ nomenclature since the ICS days, but we feel the 10.1 branch is quickly approaching the point where a ‘final’ build is due,” the team of developers behind the software notes in a recent blog post.

“To prepare for that eventuality, RC1 builds for CyanogenMod 10.1.0 are now landing on our servers! This will be one of (if not the last) milestone releases before a 10.1.0 is pushed out.”

The CyanogenMod 10.1.0 RC1 builds have been made available for download through the official CyanogenMod download website, and owners of supported devices should head there to grab them.
