Cyanogen has big plans of conquest ahead of it

Samsung is the biggest smartphone vendor in the world and one of the most important players in the Android ecosystem.

Even so not everybody seems to be intimidated by the Korean tech giant’s dominion over the world of handsets.

Present at the launch of Micromax's Yureka smartphone, which is the first 64-bit handset to take advantage of Cyanogen OS, CEO and founder of Cyanogen, Kirk McMaster, said that “Samsung couldn't build a good OS even if they tried” (as seen on Reddit).

Cyanogen boasts that they have been striving towards super optimizing Android and taking it to a new level ever since their inception. Samsung has been dabbing in the waters of customizations with its proprietary TouchWiz interface, but most users resent the manufacturer for tampering with stock Android.

Furthermore, Samsung has been developing its own Tizen platform for quite some time now, although we’re yet to see products taking advantage of the OS arrive into retail, except a few smartwatches (like the Gear 2).

Cyanogen says they are looking to seize the opportunity of becoming the first or second dominant version of Android on the planet, and who knows, they might actually manage to do so at some point.

Cyanogen just signed an exclusive partnership with Micromax in India, which prevents previous partner OnePlus from selling any more handsets in the country.
