A new Android-based Byond smartphone is now official in India, namely the Phablet PII, which arrives on shelves with a 5.7-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) touchscreen display.

The new device also sports a 1 GHz dual-core processor inside, along with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back and a 3MP front camera for making video calls.

Running under Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform, the smartphone also packs 1GB of RAM and 4GB internal memory, as well as a microSD memory card slot.

It features 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.0, GPS receiver, a 2,500 mAh battery and dual-SIM capabilities.

As fonearena reports, the Byond Phablet PII is set to become available for purchase through Flipkart and various dealers and distributors with a price tag of Rs. 14,999 ($277 / €207) attached to it.
