The smartphone runs under Jelly Bean, sports a 1.4GHz processor

Today, Boost Mobile made available for purchase on its network a new handset coming from Samsung, namely the Android-based Galaxy Prevail 2.

The mobile phone is already available for purchase through the wireless carrier’s website, featuring a price tag of $179.99 (€138), with no contract agreement required.

Running under Google’s Android Jelly Bean operating system, the mobile phone arrive on shelves with a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen display, a 1.4GHz processor, and a Lithium Ion 1750mAh battery that can deliver up to 8 hours of talk time.

Furthermore, the handset features Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities, GPS receiver, a 5-megapixel photo snapper with support for HD video recording, a 1.3MP front camera for video calling, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 64GB of internal memory.

As SammyHub notes, Galaxy Prevail 2 builds on the original handset that arrived in 2011, but packs improved software and hardware.
