Nexus 4, the latest Google phone out there, has been released last year with a variety of appealing features packed inside, including a Bluetooth 4.0 chip, but it seems that support for the technology is coming to it only now.

No official info on the matter has been provided, but the smartphone has emerged at the Bluetooth SIG again, with Bluetooth 4.0 specified as being part of its features list.

Although the necessary technology was included in the initial design, the Android OS did not support it, but it seems that this might have changed, and that Google might announce the move in the near future, maybe as soon as today at the Google I/O conference, Engadget notes.

The recently spotted White flavor of the smartphone might be unveiled at the event as well, rumor has it.
