Canadian mobile phone maker BlackBerry appears determined to make its BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) available for more mobile phone users out there, including those with Windows Phone devices in their hands.

The company did not specifically mention plans to make such a move, but Gary Klassen, creator and principal architect of BBM, did say that they were aiming at bringing it to more platforms out there.

"BBM will not be limited to just Android or iOS. We are open to other platforms also. We want more are more people to enjoy and experience BBM," he said, themobileindian reports.

BBM was set to become available for Android and iOS devices a few weeks back, but the vendor ran into server issues with the rollout and decided to postpone the official launch until it solved them.

Unfortunately, no specific info on when BBM will arrive on Windows Phone or other platforms out there has been provided as of now. However, as WMPoweruser notes, BBM for Windows Phone might not be a top priority for the company at the moment.
