No specific info on when that might happen has been provided

Canadian mobile phone maker BlackBerry is reportedly getting ready for delivering a user interface makeover to its BBM application for Android and iOS devices.

Apparently, BlackBerry President John Sims has confirmed during a Q&A at the BlackBerry Security Summit that this will happen, a recent article on N4BB notes.

The BBM experience on these mobile platforms is expected to change to a more native one, it seems, influenced by the release of BBM for Windows Phone with similar capabilities.

Unfortunately, no specific details on when the new user interface might start arriving on said OSes have been provided as of now, nor on what exactly the new UI design will have to offer, but chances are that some additional info on the matter will be offered soon.

As it turns out, many of those who are using BBM on their Android and iOS devices find it a bit confusing, and this is what BlackBerry wants to change in the future releases.

BBM for Windows Phone will arrive later this week and will turn the messaging application into a true cross-platform service. BlackBerry plans on building on that, and offering native experiences to all of its users will be a great thing for BBM, that’s for sure.
