BlackBerry has already confirmed a “Save the Date” event that’s been scheduled for September 24, but the Canadian company did not unveil what device(s) plans to announce later this month.

However, we all know that BlackBerry Passport will be the main star of the upcoming event. We have learned that BlackBerry will launch the smartphone in two color options: Black and White.

Nothing wrong with going classic for a classy device such as BlackBerry Passport, but now word has it that the company plans to bring two more versions of the smartphone to the market.

The folks over at N4BB report, citing sources close to the matter, that BlackBerry will also introduce a “premium” Passport, which will use either leather or glass weave for the back cover instead of the usual rubberized plastic on the standard model.

Aside from the premium version, BlackBerry may also launch a gold variation of the Passport, but it’s unclear whether or not this will be a “special edition,” and thus priced much higher, or it will have the same specs and design as the standard model, but in a differently colored chassis.

The Passport may be one of the last smartphones launched by BlackBerry on the market this year, but we expect more devices to be announced in early 2015.
