The new platform release should pack a host of other enhancements as well

Canadian mobile phone maker BlackBerry should soon start delivering to its users a new flavor of the BlackBerry 10 operating system, one that will also be present on the BlackBerry Q10 smartphone, namely OS 10.1.

The new OS release will hit the market with a variety of enhancements packed inside, some of which have already been unveiled to the world, but also with new features and improvements that have yet to be detailed.

Among these, there should be more notification options for contacts and messages, a dark theme for some of the applications, and better camera capabilities.

Additionally, the platform upgrade will bring along the option to transfer data from a BB7 device to BB10 using BlackBerry Protect, a leaked document that emerged over at CrackBerry unveils. However, nothing has been officially confirmed on the matter, so stay tuned for more on this.
