Canadian mobile phone maker BlackBerry has confirmed once again plans to bring to the market a new PlayBook model before the end of this year, although it did not offer a specific release date for it as of now.

Mike Al Mefleh, director of product management at BlackBerry, was the one to confirm the upcoming tablet PC, which was said at one point to never arrive on shelves.

“We have a very clear road map. The company will launch six additional new devices in 2013,” said Al Mefleh speaking to Emirates 24|7, while also adding that the aforementioned new PlayBook would be launched along these six new devices.

No specific info on the tablet PC has been provided as of now, yet rumor has it that it will be launched with the new BlackBerry 10 OS loaded on top (a platform upgrade should arrive on the existing PlayBook as well).
