Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion has started to deliver new software updates for its handsets available around the world at various wireless carriers.

Telefonica’s BlackBerry Bold 9900 is one of them, and its owners can now download and install OS 7.1.0.658 on their devices.

No specific info on what the new firmware version brought along has been provided as of yet, but fixes and improvements are certain to have been included.

Before starting the update, users might consider backing up all data on their devices, so as to make sure that no important files are lost during the installation process.

The new OS 7.1.0.658 for Bold 9900 at Telefonica is available for download from RIM’s support website. You can learn more on the new software on the CrackBerry forums.
