Mobile phone users in the UK interested in the purchase of a BlackBerry 9720 smartphone can now do so, as the device has just gone up for grabs in the country via online retailer unlocked-mobiles.

Available SIM-free and unlocked, the handset costs £179.98 ($282 / €211), which might not sound too appealing to many, given the handset’s older OS, as CrackBerry notes.

The BlackBerry 9720 was made official last week with BlackBerry OS 7.1 loaded on top, a 2.8-inch (480 x 360 pixels) screen, and 512MB of RAM.

Furthermore, BlackBerry packed it with a QWERTY keyboard, a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back with LED Flash, 512MB of internal memory, microSD memory card slot, and a Li-Ion 1450 mAh battery.

The smartphone also comes with support for 2G GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and 3G HSDPA 850/900/1900/2100 HSDPA frequencies.
