14 DAY TRIAL // One of the latest applications to have landed on RIM’s BlackBerry 10 operating system is Barcode Scanner, now available for download for free through the official BlackBerry World software portal.
The app was available for previous flavors of the BlackBerry OS before, and can still be downloaded and installed on all handsets packing OS version 4.5.0 or higher.
For those out of the loop we should note that the application was designed to take advantage of the handset’s camera to provide barcode scanning capabilities.
“With this scanner you can quickly read barcodes in the following formats: - QR Code - CODE 128 - CODE 39 - DATAMATRIX - EAN 13 - EAN 8 - ITF - PDF417 - UPC A - UPC E,” S4BB Limited, the company behind the app, explains.
