BlackBerry might not be the most popular mobile operating system out there the moment, but it certainly has the fastest browser of them all, a recent study from New Relic unveils.

According to the report, the BlackBerry 10 browser could load a page in an average of 1.55 seconds, which puts it in the first place among mobile browsers, way ahead of the second position.

The study shows that Opera Mini 4.2 could offer the second-best load times out there, at an average 4.78 seconds. The third position went to the Mobile Safari on Apple’s iPad with 4.91 seconds.

As PhoneArena notes, the Canadian mobile phone maker is very proud of its web navigation application at the moment, despite the fact that the browser was not so great on older devices.

When it comes to popularity, however, Safari came in first with 44 percent, while BlackBerry’s browser enjoyed only 2.2 percent of votes, which puts it on the sixth place.
