The latest update for the platform might have enabled it

Microsoft appears to have finally decided to make Bing Rewards available for all Windows Phone 8.1 users in the United States, after starting to roll out the feature to its mobile users last week.

Previously, Bing Rewards for mobile search appeared to be available only for some Windows Phone users in the United States, but things are said to be different now.

All Windows Phone 8.1 users should now receive access to the feature, a post on Reddit suggests, although no official announcement on the matter has been made as of now.

As WMPoweruser notes, chances are that the latest update that Microsoft has started to roll out to Windows Phone 8.1 users out there has enabled this.

Bing Rewards allows users to earn credit by performing searches on their devices. Up to a total of 10 points can be earned each day, and they can be redeemed in Microsoft Stores for digital goods.

At the moment, users in the United States are able to take advantage of Windows Phone 8.1 only if they install the Developer Preview version on an existing phone, though phones running under the full-flavored OS release should start arriving on shelves soon.

The new platform version is expected to land on all current Windows Phone 8 handsets starting June, but Microsoft has yet to offer specific details on the matter.
