Bad news for Android enthusiasts waiting for Bell to launch the budget-friendly Sony Xperia J. Although the smartphone was scheduled for release on March 27, it appears that the carrier has decided to delay the launch of the Xperia J.

According to MobileSyrup, the Canadian carrier now plans to start offering the affordable Xperia J on April 9. No word on price tag yet, but this one should be available for under $200/€150 outright.

Even though the Xperia J was initially launched with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system onboard, Bell customers will get the smartphone with Jelly Bean platform out of the box.

Other highlights of the phone include: 1GHz single-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, microSD card slot (up to 32GB), 4-inch Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine display and HSDPA support.
