Microsoft’s Windows Phone Store portal has added a new wireless operator to the list of companies offering carrier billing to users, namely Belgium’s Mobistar.

The mobile phone carrier has announced on its Facebook page that users can now purchase applications and games from the official storefront and have them charged on their monthly bill.

Windows Phone users in the Netherlands can also take advantage of this more convenient payment method on their Windows Phone devices on the network of wireless carrier Vodafone.

According to Microsoft, the availability of the carrier billing as a way to pay for storefront purchases usually increases the amount of bought apps and also helps growing the number of consumers making purchases.

As WMPoweruser notes, Mobistar does not offer carrier billing for Google’s Android platform, nor does it for Apple’s iOS operating system.
