Microsoft is prepping the stage for the arrival of Windows 10 Mobile into the wild, and while we wait on that, we bring you word of what appears to be the first device running this particular operating system.

A device with Windows 10 Mobile and an octa-core processor has been spotted going through benchmarks by Nokia Power User.

The name of the manufacturer that will allegedly produce this phone is MDG Chi, an unknown OEM which we honestly haven’t heard of. There’s not very much about it online either, but in all possibility this is a Chinese brand.

Anyway, the octa-core processor is accompanied by a 720p display, which indicates that this will probably not be a flagship device but a mid-range one. So it makes sense to think the chipset is actually the Snapdragon 615.

Microsoft said that Windows 10 Mobile would offer support for Snapdragon 810, 808, 615 and 210, so our speculation does seem to hold ground.

On the other hand, given the fact that the OEM listed as the producer of the phone is probably hailing from China, there’s a possibility we might be dealing with an octa-core MediaTek SoC.

The first Windows 10 Mobile devices are expected to show up in retail stores around Q4 2015. Which means we still have some waiting to do ahead of us.
