BlackBerry fans that didn’t replace their smartphones with the new Z10 yet, will be happy to know the Canadian company has just updated BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) application with new features and improvements.

As CrackBerry points out, the latest version of BlackBerry Messenger now offers BBM Voice feature to all those who own a BlackBerry 5/6/7 device.

However, keep in mind that in order to use the new feature users will need a data plan and/or a Wi-Fi connection. Moreover, in order for BBM Voice chat to work, both users require BlackBerry OS 5 or higher.

After installing the latest version of BlackBerry Messenger, users will have to restart their smartphones so they can experience the new BBM Voice chat feature.

Also, the Canadian developers also integrated BlackBerry ID to make it easier to transition from a Blackberry smartphone to another.

Keep in mind though that when using BBM Voice for the first time, you should make sure that you have a solid data plan with enough allowance, or at least be on a Wi-Fi network.

If you don't have the application yet, you can download BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) 7.0.1.23 for free download via BlackBerry World.

The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by BlackBerry OS 5.0 and higher. Check it out here.
