It’s already been confirmed that Asus will launch the sequel to the Padfone tablet/phone combo on October 16. The device will be announced during two events set to take place in Milan, Italy and Taipei, Taiwan.

Today, Asus confirmed it would stream the event from Milan starting 11am (UTC +2). This is one of the first events the company streams live, so it must be very important for Asus.

The first details on Asus Padfone 2’s specs sheet leaked several days ago, so we already know what to expect. The smartphone is said to pack a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and a large 4.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display with HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution.

We’re still wondering whether or not the company will deliver the Padfone 2 with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform out of the box. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
