Research In Motion confirmed it’s now investigating the problems

Research In Motion (RIM) has just informed BlackBerry users that it is aware of the BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) issues that some users in APAC (Asia-Pacific) may currently experience.

Some users in APAC are experiencing issues with BBM. We are investigating and apologize for any inconvenience.”

Hopefully, the problem won’t expand to other regions in the following hours, as all RIM’s technical problems tend to do lately.

So far, BlackBerry users in the APAC region claim the issues are only affecting BBM, so it’s not really a network outage as the one that hit RIM last year.

Keep in mind that, if you have troubles with the BlackBerry App World, it’s due to the fact that RIM’s application store is now down for maintenance. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.

UPDATE: RIM claims all issues have been solved: "We apologize for the BBM issues experienced by some of our customers in APAC. All BlackBerry services are now operating normally."
