Google is hard at work with the delivery of a new Android Market client for devices based on its Android operating system.

The new app flavor lands on devices as Android Market 3.4.4 and brings along a series of performance enhancements, being said to operate faster than the previous release. Moreover, the new Android Market packs a setting for auto-adding widgets to the home screen.

The option is said to have replaced the "auto-add shortcuts" feature that the previous version of the Market included. It also appears that Google has replaced the ‘older’ shortcuts with widgets.

The new Android Market 3.4.4 is currently being pushed out on devices over the air, but should also be available for download via various websites out there.

The installation of the new client version does not require root. However, if the app starts closing, users should head over to Settings > Applications > Manage > Market and clear all data, Android Police notes in a recent article.
